Description
Ask most any Brit, who was the greatest TV game show host of all time, and more often than not you'll hear the words "Bob Monkhouse"
And this show was one of the reasons why. (yes, his jokes were scripted, but who cares?).
It has been tried and retried many times, Your Lucky Numbers, Trump Card, All or Nothing. But scripted or not, Bob Monkhouse had that certain something that made this the one version that worked.
It's a simple game of BRITISH BINGO. (Which is much different from American bingo, let me tell you). Answer questions, cover numbers on your card... Cover all your numbers, win the game.
GAME RULES
Rules
This is one of the few multi-prize games where a player can walk away with 2 small prizes and one large in a single game!
Note: If a player misses a question, they are locked out of the current question and the next question, otherwise known as being "wallied".
Round 1
We will ask a series of toss-up questions. For each question the first player gets right, will have a corner number removed from their board. Play of Round 1 continues until 1 player has had all four corners removed from the board, and they win a small prize.
Round 2:
Topical questions
We start with the player who had the fewest numbers correctly removed from their board in round 1. (if multiple players have the same numbers remaining, we start with the player who got their last correct question earliest in the game), and then it rotates around the game.
We will reveal six random topics out of a possible 12 on the board, and each topic is associated with a multiple of 10 numbers (So Topic 1 will be squares 0-10, Topic 2 11-20, and so on to Topic 6 51-60)
The players must attempt to remove their middle row of numbers by answering a question based on the numbers on their board.
The player who chooses the category has 30 seconds to try to answer their chosen topic question. If they do so correctly, they remove that appropriate number from the middle of the board.
If they fail to do so by running out of time or giving an incorrect answer, they are wallied, and the question becomes a tossup question for the remaining players, with the same rules of the toss-up of Round 1 applying. If they get the question correct, they remove the appropriate number from the middle row, or if they don't have that number available, they simply keep the other players from clearing the number.
We also have the "tossup" available, which can be used, but it becomes an immediate toss-up to everyone in the game (again, like Round 1), and whomever gets it correct will have a random number removed from the middle row of their board.
Very much identical to this format (at the moment), we may throw in the "tossup" category, which will remove a random middle number. (already programmed in, but not sure if we need it)
Next player than chooses one of the available remaining categories, and the process repeats until someone has cleared their middle row.
First player to clear their middle row wins a small prize as well
Round 3:
CLEAR THE BOARD
From here on out, it's a fastest finger question game, as all players may try to answer any question, each correct answer removes a number from their card. (Horizontally, top row to bottom) with the goal of removing all their numbers from their card.
Note an incorrect answer will get you "wallied" for the next question, in which you may not answer.
In addition, at this point there is a time limit to the game of 30 minutes remaining. If time runs out, the player who has the fewest remaining numbers on their card wins.
In case of a tie on a timed game, one last question between all tied players closest to winning will compete in a single fastest finger question.
