COUNTDOWN
All about the original British version of the show.
A failed US pilot that actually did away with the numbers round, and included celebrities
It's a simple premise.. but it's so damn addictive and probably our MOST loved game we've adapted

"I'll take a consonant. I'll take another consonant. A vowel. A consonant. Another vowel".

Take 10 random letters, and build the longest word you can in under X number of seconds.

Rinse and Repeat!

Countdown was actually had it's beginnings in France, but really took off in the UK version, and has been running almost unchanged since 1982.. and it's still a hit!
OUR ADAPTATION

STYLE: OPEN PLAY to 3 FINALISTS
TIME: 20 to 45 minutes depending on the situation

RULES:
Round 1: LETTERS round

We will reveal 9 letters (with a minimum of 3 consonants and 3 vowels).

After the 9 letters are revealed, the players (all players on the chat) will have 30 seconds to make the longest word they can find.

Words must be recognized by the dictionary we use (no, we won't tell you which dictionary!), and each player's first word is the only word we will accept, unless someone used the word before you did, in which case you can supply a new word.

Players may use only the letters on the board, and only up to the amount they see on the board (so if they see: LTEREXZQOW, the word "Letter" will not be allowed, as it would require two "T"'s.

Scoring:
An invalid word or incorrect letters: 0 points
2 to 8 letter word: 1 point per letter
9 or 10 letter word: 2 points per letter

The process then repeats, with the first longest word choosing the next set of vowels and consonants.

We play until the timer expires, at which point the top 3 scorers move on to the NUMBERS round

ROUND 2: NUMBERS round

This will consist of 24 covered letters (4 large numbers, 24 smaller numbers.)

Each finalist will have a round which they choose 6 of those mystery numbers, a minimum of one of which must be a larger number

A three digit total will be revealed, at which point, the players will have 30 seconds to create a mathematical equation using only the basic operands (*, /, +, -) and parenthesis to get as close to the final number as possible.

Note that all numbers do NOT have to be used in the equation, but all numbers used must have been revealed.

All equations will be read left to right , and no order of operations will apply unless parenthesis are used.

Each player will score based on how close to the target number they reach (High or low), so if the target number is 320 , a final solution of 310 or 330 will score 10 points.

Each finalist will have one round of selecting numbers, after which the scores will be totaled, and the lowest score will win the game.

PRIZE/SHOW SETUP:
Tuesdays: Winner will get to claim a prize from the large treasure chests.

Saturdays: Vault - 1 number for winning the game, and 1 number for each NUMBERS selection they have the lowest score in. (up to 4 numbers off the vault)
