The Joker's Wild
It's the game where "Knowledge is King and Lady Luck" is queen.

Believe ti or not, this is one of those games that while originally not intentioned as it's own show, actually made it to the airwaves, just because of how interesting it was.

Originally, Jack Barry, who had been having troubles due to the infamous game show scandals, had come up with an idea for a game show, in which luck played as much of a role as skill. (I mean how can you rig luck?)

The original pilot of the game consisted of players spinning wheels, and then selecting a category in which one of 5 in-studio celebrities would read off the question.

In fact Jack and company even used the entire premise to add to a short lived pilot called "The Honeymoon Game", with the celebrities, the luck and the wheel.

Eventually it was realized, why slow things down with the celebrities. and you end up with TV trivia's ultimate slot machine!

It's gone through a number of variations over time, but you can never forget "Joker... Joker.. JOKER!"

(And for some reason, despite the excitement, this is one that neither the UK or anyone else tried to emulate).

OUR VERSION

Very much similar to the basic layout, with no "oddball' categories. We try to avoid this one except on special occasions, due to graphical and technical requirements. Who knows.. Maybe one day we'll get it back working to our full liking.
