ULTIMATUM / 15 to 1

Ever realize you've found a game that you wanted to try, but can't find anything more than the barest of information on?

Well, we found one of those, in the Canadian game show called "Ultimatum".

The description of the game is somewhat similar to the later rounds of the UK Game show of "15 to 1", but there was enough of a difference, that we went with the purist route and went with the Ultimatum title for our version.

A game designed for 5 players, where the players read the question and then picked an opponent to answer the question.

However, players had three tools at their disposal:

"Ricochet" - in which they could pass the question to any other player

"Mirror" - where they could throw the question back to the person who asked them the question

"Trap" -  Only usable by the player who asked the question.

Three wrong answers, and you were out of the game.   Last contestant standing was the winner

BONUS ROUND

The player who won round one, then faced all four of their opponents in a team vs. player match, however, for every life they had not lost during the game, they could remove one player from the team before play began.  (So you could end up with a 1 vs. 1 rematch)

OUR VERSION

We start play with 5 to 15  players, and three categories will appear on the board.

One player will be chosen as the first controller, and will pick a topic.  He/she then may either use his "Trap" tool or immediately  challenge another player.

However, before the question is revealed, the chosen player may use any of their tools to redirect the question to any other player.

Until a player states they will take the question, tools may be used as often as players would like, except the "Trap".

Once all the ricochets and mirrors have been used on that question by the players, the question will be revealed to the player who must answer it.

Tool Rules -

"Ricochet" - A ricochet can be used, but cannot be used to ricochet the question back to the individual who challenged you to answer a question, so richocet's need to be used before the final 2 players or they are considered "lost".

Mirror - A mirror reflects the question immediately back on the "CURRENT" controller (Not the original).  Player1 challenges Player 2, who ricochets it to player 3, the MIRROR will immediately go back to Player 2.

The player who accepts the question must answer the question correctly, or they will lose one of their three lives.    If they answer correctly, the ORIGINAL controller will lose a life.

"Trap" - The Trap question  immediately stops all further ricochets and mirrors, and forces the player who's been challenged to answer the question.

BONUS GAME:

Similar to the described bonus game in the format:   It's 1 player vs. a team.

For every life the player has remaining at the end of the game, they will be able to remove one player from the team (so they will face 1 to 4 opponents).

Each remaining team member will choose one category of the remaining visible categories, that the player must answer.  A correct answer removes the team member from the bonus round.  An incorrect answer costs the player one of his remaining lives (So surviving with as many lives in-tact in the main game helps!).

The player tries to eliminate all the players on the opposing team before his remaining lives are lost.

VAULT NUMBER REMOVAL

If all team members are removed:   Player gets 4 numbers off the vault

If 2 remains:   3 numbers

If 3 remains:   2 numbers

If 4 remain:     1 number off the vault
